Newcastle have the best chance of winning the EFL Cup
The Magpies have no international representation this season and are already 12 points off the lead in the Premier League. The EFL Cup is therefore the hosts' best chance of winning the title. They have already made it to the semi-finals there, beating Chelsea FC and Brentford FC, among others, on the way. In the semi-final first leg, they celebrated a somewhat surprising 0:2 away win at Arsenal FC. This puts them in a comfortable position for the second leg, as they only have to defend their lead. Newcastle will therefore not risk too much, especially at the start of the game, and will concentrate on their strengths. Their confidence must be high in any case, as they have been one of the most in-form teams on the island in recent weeks and months. Although they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League on the last matchday, they had won 9 games in a row before that! They not only beat Arsenal FC, but also Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle have long been considered a top team. Incidentally, they would face Tottenham or Liverpool in a possible final in the EFL Cup.

Newcastle eyeing the Champions League places
They have climbed up to 5th place in the Premier League following their winning streak. They currently have the same number of points as Manchester City, who are in 4th place. Of course, the goal is a top 4 place to reach the Champions League again. One player who could fulfill this wish is Alexander Isak. The Swede has been the best striker in the league in recent weeks and already has 17 goals to his name. Last matchday, he scored another two goals in the 3-1 defeat at Southampton.
