Who will come out on top in this top game?
Manchester City are on a mission this season and that mission is to win the league title. After a disastrous last season, City strengthened their squad very well in the summer and rejuvenated many parts of the team. Their start to the season was already a foretaste of the months to come, they gave Wolves no chance in a 0:4 away win. Tottenham have made a similarly strong start with new coach Thomas Frank. Spurs have also strengthened their squad and started with an unchallenged 3-0 win against newly promoted Burnley. Manchester City is also something of a favorite opponent for Spurs, which is why they have high hopes in London.

Will ManCity make it back to the top this year?
Last season was a season to forget for the Citizens and, above all, a season without a title. Pep Guardiola's team had obviously passed its zenith and a number of former top performers were therefore released. The team was rejuvenated and strengthened with players such as Ryan Cherki, Tijani Reijnders and Rayan Ait Nour. Some of these new additions were already on the pitch from the start on matchday 1 and impressed. With a 0:4 win at Wolverhampton, they secured the lead in the table after matchday 1. The double scorer in this game was once again Erling Haaland, who is the biggest star in the team alongside the injured Rodri. The next few weeks will be much tougher, however, as Brighton, Manchester United and Arsenal FC await alongside Tottenham. The start of the season is therefore a tough one for the hosts and they will see early on where they stand in comparison to other top teams.
City also had a strong final spurt in the Premier League last season, securing a Champions League place in the process. Since the beginning of March, the team has gone 10 Premier League games unbeaten in a row. Their last defeat came against the surprise team Nottingham Forest. The only bitter defeat in this period came in the FA Cup. There they were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace in the final at Wembley Stadium.

Tottenham also wants to impress in the league this time
Spurs have had a season to forget, finishing 17th in the Premer League! Despite this poor position, they were never really in the relegation battle. In the end, however, they managed to save themselves by winning the Europa League title and, incredibly but truly, qualifying for the Champions League. However, this was no longer enough for coach Ange Postecoglu and the Australian was dismissed at the end of the season. Former Brentford coach Thomas Frank was hired in his place. Under the Dane, they want to attack again in the Premier League and achieve a top 5 place. One or two players were brought in during the summer. Among others, Joao Palhinha and Mohamed Kudus were signed. Further attacking additions are set to follow after the injury to James Maddison. However, the current players also did very well when they beat promoted Burnley 3-0 on matchday 1. First and foremost Richarlison, who scored a brace.
One of Tottenham's biggest problems last season was their defense. They conceded a total of 65 goals in just 38 games. However, this was mainly due to the fact that their regular defenders were repeatedly absent through injury. On matchday 1, Romero, van de Ven and Porro were all fit and Tottenham were able to keep a clean sheet. With Destiny Udogie, the left-back should also be available again soon. Their aim is to upset Manchester City again, as they have won two of their last three matches against the Manchester champions.
