Manchester City have made an unusually slow start to the new season and have lost 2 of their first 3 Premier League games. After a minor shake-up in the summer, however, this is probably part of the game. But last weekend they showed all their class again and defeated city rivals United 3:0 in the Manchester derby. Manchester City still lacks self-image
After years of dominance, they lost some of their naturalness last season and once again found themselves without a title after several seasons. In the Premier League, they had nothing to do with the league title and in the Champions League, they were eliminated in the intermediate round. Ultimately, they were also defeated in the FA Cup final. A small upheaval took place in the summer and many former key players such as Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish left the club. The team got younger and celebrated a successful start to the season with a 4:0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the team has not yet found itself and still needs time, which became clear on the next two match days. There were defeats against both Tottenham (0:2) and Brighton (1:2). They were therefore under considerable pressure last weekend and could even have dropped back to a relegation place. However, they showed all their class again in the Manchester derby and won 3-0, with Erling Haaland once again providing life insurance with two goals. They moved up to 8th place in the table and the goal difference of 8:4 goals is impressive.

Will Donnarumma give them new stability?
City decided to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, a world-class goalkeeper, at the end of the transfer window. After the departure of Ederson, he should give the defense stability again. They conceded 4 goals in the first 3 matchdays. The Italian already made a good impression in the derby with some strong saves. He was able to keep a clean sheet and will now also be used in the Champions League. City have certainly strengthened their squad with him and taken a step forward.

The team has not lost a competitive match since February, when they were beaten 2:1 away to Como. They therefore have the longest streak of all the top teams in Europe.

Naples makes its players better
Napoli is not a club that can bring in the best and most expensive players. This summer, they even made a profit of almost €10 million. But they know how to improve the players they bring into the team. There have been plenty of examples of this in recent years with Scott McTominay, Frank Anguisse and Matteo Politano.
