Liverpool is the big championship favorite
The Reds were by far the best team of the last Premier League season. Coach Arne Slot's team secured the championship weeks before the end of the season and went into the final few matchdays almost unbeaten. However, this is no reason for the club to keep their feet still and they have invested almost €340 million so far this summer. Florian Wirtz was the most expensive purchase so far, but this could change in the coming days if Alexander Isak joins the club. However, they have won their first two games of the season without the Swede. Liverpool won 4-2 at home against Bournemouth and won 3-2 away against Newcastle United. In both games, however, they squandered a two-goal lead and only scored the winner shortly before the end. The defense in particular does not look solid at the moment and is very vulnerable.

Liverpool are hard to beat at home
The Reds had a few slip-ups at the end of last season, but by that time they were already champions. Despite some poor performances, they have not lost a game at home. The last 19 home games at Anfield Road have been unbeaten, at least in the Premier League. In general, they have only been beaten once there and that was on matchday 4 against Nottingham Forest (0:1). With Viktor Gyökeres, the long-awaited center forward finally arrived. The Swede has already scored 2 goals in 2 games.
