North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. Prediction, 23.11.25

Are the Gunners continuing to pull away?

Published on 20.11.2025 16:39.

Arsenal FC is currently the measure of all things in the English Premier League. They are four points clear in first place in the table. They are the only team to have conceded just one defeat and also have the best defense in the league. After 5 wins in a row, however, they had to settle for a 2-2 draw against promoted Sunderland on the last matchday. Tottenham Hotspur cannot keep up with such statistics, as they are in 5th place in the table with 18 points. They are absolutely within striking distance of the Champions League places, but they urgently need a win in the direct duel to prevent the gap to Arsenal from becoming too big.

Arsenal can pull further away

After 3 years in a row where they finished runners-up in the Premier League, this year everything could be set for their first league title since the 2003/04 season. The Gunners are by far the most consistent team in the league and are clearly leading the table with 26 points from 11 games. They are already 4 points ahead of Manchester City, which means that even if they lose, they would still be top of the table. Of course, they would like to extend their lead with a win. The team have been unbeaten since matchday 3 and have won 5 of their last 6 games. On the last matchday so far, they drew 2-2 against promoted Sunderland. It was the first game this season in which they conceded more than one goal. In general, the hosts are by far the best defensive team in the Premier League, having conceded just 5 goals in 11 games.

Still major injury problems in the offense

One of the few problems Arsenal have so far this season is their offense. This is not due to a lack of quality, but more to the susceptibility to injury. In recent weeks, Ödegaard, Martinelli, Madueke, Gyökeres, Havertz and Jesus are no less than 6 key players out. However, some of them, such as Martin Ödegaard and Viktor Gyökeres, could now return. Kai Havertz is also about to make his comeback. This is also urgently needed, because apart from Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyökeres, no player has scored more than 2 goals.

Tottenham want to close the gap

The Spurs have a new coach on the sidelines in Thomas Frank. The Dane should lead the team back into the Champions League and upset the top teams. So far, they have managed to do so with some success, because while they are already 8 points behind Arsenal, they are only one point behind the Champions League places. Tottenham are currently in 5th place and have a record of 5 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. They have scored 19 goals and conceded 10. Both very respectable figures in the Premier League. However, the last few weeks have been somewhat difficult, with defeats against Aston Villa and Chelsea. Even on the last matchday, they only managed a 2-2 draw in the top match against Manchester United, while their only win in this period came away against Everton (0-3). The team generally finds it much easier away from home. With 13 points from 5 games, they are also the best away team in the Premier League. They won 4 out of 5 games. They also only conceded 3 goals in these 5 games.

Tottenham has a similar problem in offense

Like their opponents, Tottenham are also struggling with absences in attack. James Maddison will miss the rest of the season due to a cruciate ligament rupture. Dejan Kulusevski has yet to play a game this year, but is set to make a comeback. Also struggling in recent weeks have been Mohammed Kudus, Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani. However, all could return in the next few days.

Arsenal remain the favorites at home - Our prediction

Arsenal FC is the measure of all things in the English Premier League at the moment. Top of the table, best defense and still unbeaten at home. There is a lot to be said for a home win for the Gunners. However, Tottenham are the best away team in the league. They have also only conceded 3 goals in 5 games away from home. Due to numerous absences in the offense, we could well imagine that the two teams will neutralize each other and fewer than 2.5 goals will be scored.
