Strong start to the season for AS Roma
AS Roma played an outstanding spring season and secured 5th place in Serie A. However, coach Claudio Rainieri ended his career in the summer and they have pulled off a real coup with Gian Piero Gasperini. The Italian led Atalanta Bergamo to the Champions League, among other things, and is now set to do the same with Roma. The start to the season under his management has already been very successful, as after 5 wins from the first 6 games they are in second place in Serie A. They are level on points with league leaders Napoli. The hosts have impressed so far with the most stable defense in Italy. In 6 games, they have only conceded 2 goals, but have only scored 7 in return. They have not conceded a goal in 4 out of 6 games. The top games so far against Bologna (1:0), Lazio Roma (0:1) and AC Florence (1:2) were all narrow wins. Their only defeat came at home against FC Torino.

Roma has done the bare minimum so far
In the league, 4 out of 5 victories have so far been won by just one goal. This was only not the case in the 2:0 home win against Hellas Verona. The same applies in the UEFA Europa League. They have won one match and lost one so far. Away at Nice, they narrowly won 1:2. Most recently, however, there was a 1-0 defeat at home to OSC Lille. Both defeats this season have therefore been conceded at home. However, new signing Leon Bailey could make his debut at the weekend and liven up the attack.

Inter Milan still has teething problems
After finishing runners-up last season, the only thing that counts for Inter this year is of course the championship. The Champions League winners did not have a bad season, but coach Simone Inzaghi had to leave at the end to make a fresh start. In the summer, the team was rejuvenated in a number of positions and Cristian Chivu, an inexperienced coach, came to the sidelines. Under his leadership, the season got off to a good start, but not a great one. However, they are in 4th place in Serie A after 6 match days and are only 4 points behind league leaders Napoli. After an opening win against FC Torino (5:0), they quickly fell into a small crisis and suffered two consecutive defeats against Juventus and Udinese. However, they seem to have overcome this crisis, as they have won all of their last 3 games. With a total of 17 goals, they are the lone number 1 in Italy in attack. They have also scored at least 2 goals in 5 out of 6 games. No fewer than 5 players in the squad have already scored 2 or more goals. At the same time, however, they have already conceded 8 goals and have only managed to keep 2 clean sheets.

Still without conceding a goal in the Champions League
Last year's finalists have yet to concede a goal in the top flight this year and have made a very successful start with two wins. On matchday 1, they won 0:2 away at Ajax Amsterdam.
