Monaco has found better form again
AS Monaco are once again playing a role in the battle for the Champions League places in Ligue 1, but Adi Hütter's team struggled enormously in February and dropped several points. They were also narrowly eliminated by Benfica Lisbon in the intermediate round of the UEFA Champions League. After a 3:3 draw in the second leg in Lisbon and a subsequent 2:1 defeat at OSC Lille, however, they remained unbeaten in their last three games, picking up a strong 7 points in the process. The team made up ground in the table and climbed back up to 3rd place, overtaking their upcoming opponents Nice, who have exactly the same number of points. Monaco has a new star
The club did a lot of things right in the winter transfer window, signing Mika Biereth, currently one of the most in-form strikers in Europe. The Dane immediately found his feet in Ligue 1 and has already scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists in 9 games. This makes him the 5th-highest scorer in France's top flight after just 9 games and also the life insurance for Monaco at the moment. Especially as Florian Balogun, the second important striker, is out through injury.
